What Is Chi for Two®?
If you’ve ever sensed that your healing journey needs more than talk, you’re not alone.
For many of us, the deepest shifts happen when our body—not just our thoughts—gets to be part of the conversation.
Chi for Two® is a body-based modality that supports nervous system regulation, connection, and trauma healing through relational movement, attunement, and stillness. It’s designed to be woven into therapy—not as something extra, but as an integral part of your care.
Whether you’ve already experienced somatic work or this is your first time learning about it, Chi for Two® offers a gentle invitation to explore healing from the inside out.
A Few Common Questions We Get:
Can Chi for Two® be done virtually?
Yes. Chi for Two® can be integrated into telehealth sessions with modifications that still allow for deep, embodied healing and nervous system support.
What if I’m an individual—not a couple?
You don’t need to be in a partnership to experience Chi for Two®. Despite the name implying two people, this work is highly effective for individuals, including those navigating trauma, grief, chronic stress, or relational wounding.
Is this a separate service or something I need to pay extra for?
Nope. If you're currently working with one of our licensed therapists trained in Chi for Two®, it is included in your therapy sessions and covered under your existing plan or insurance.
Who is this for?
Chi for Two® can be a powerful support for:
People who feel like talk therapy alone isn’t reaching the layers they want to explore
Those who carry tension, exhaustion, or burnout
Anyone who wants to reconnect to their body, emotions, or inner safety
Who might it not be for?
While Chi for Two® is gentle and adaptable, it's not a fit for every moment. If you're feeling overwhelmed or dissociative, your therapist will support you in identifying what type of somatic work is most appropriate.
Should couples try it?
Absolutely. For couples, Chi for Two® can offer a shared experience of regulation and connection. It’s not about “fixing” your communication—it’s about softening together, attuning to one another’s rhythms, and building safety that doesn’t rely on words alone.
Whether you're curious or ready to try, remember: your healing doesn’t have to be all talk. Sometimes, the body needs to lead too.
Ask your provider if Chi for Two® might be a supportive fit for your journey.
With care,
The MHC Team
